‘Very welcoming’: Audrey-Ann Richard-Tremblay at EACOM on #TakeYourPlace

Audrey-Ann Richard-Tremblay’s role at EACOM Timber Corporation in Val d’Or, Que., shows that protecting the environment goes hand in hand with forest management.
Richard-Tremblay is the company’s co-ordinator of certification and forestry qualification, meaning she ensures that EACOM’s practices are sustainable and minimize impact on Canada’s forests.
She’s also a spokesperson for the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC)’s #TakeYourPlace campaign, which kicked off in 2019 to highlight opportunities in the forest products sector for women, Indigenous peoples and new Canadians.
#TakeYourPlace is part of a larger FPAC recruitment project called The Greenest Workforce – an online hub that houses a forestry job board, labour market information and a tool to develop career pathways.
“I would say to a woman who [wants] to work in forestry to not be afraid because it’s a very welcoming industry,” Richard-Tremblay says in the below #TakeYourPlace campaign video. “I did not have any difficulties being integrated in the team.”
