This episode features Pamela Cowan, chief marketing and financial officer for Pulmac Systems International, a developer of on-line, contaminant and strength testing equipment and data solutions for the pulp and paper industry. Pam is also the chief strategy officer at Pulmac’s spinoff fibre engineering company called FiberWorx, which produces solutions such as the FiberRouter, a fibre engineering system for process control in stock preparation.
Throughout her career, Pam has lived in both Canada and the United States, where she’s currently based. She’s also actively involved in promoting and celebrating women in the pulp and paper industry as one of the founding members of TAPPI’s Women in Industry Division and its chair emeritus.
In this episode, Pam discusses her work as a supplier in the pulp and paper industry, shares the robust initiatives TAPPI has to offer women, and reflects on the successes and remaining barriers for women in the sector.
